According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Barcelona approached Gigi Buffon to be their second-choice goalkeeper, but he turned them down.
The 43-year-old is a free agent after the end of his second experience with Juventus and has not yet decided if he’ll continue his career or hang up his gloves.
He has hinted that a move abroad would be of interest after one season at Paris Saint-Germain.
Now Sport maintain Barcelona asked the Italy legend if he’d be interested in signing on to be the understudy for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
However, Buffon is not yet prepared to spend most of the season on the bench and would prefer a club with more playing time.
