Barcelona will reportedly renew their interest in Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado at the end of the season, providing that their transfer embargo is lifted.

Mundo Deportivo today speculate that the Blaugrana are still hot on the heels of the Colombia international, and that Luis Enrique is eyeing him as a potential replacement for the outgoing Dani Alves.

However, any move for Cuadrado would be influenced by the outcome of the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s ruling on Barcelona’s transfer ban, which was originally set to start in time for the recent summer mercato.

Barca are believed to be readying their appeal against the FIFA penalty and want proceedings to be fast-tracked so they can begin laying the groundwork for their transfer activity in due course.

The Catalans have admitted to breaching FIFA policy in regards to signing Under-18 players but take the stance that the two-year ban handed to them by the governing body is excessive.

If everything goes according to the Catalans’ plan, CAS will issue its ruling by the end of the year, allowing Barca to step up their pursuit of Cuadrado if a satisfactory outcome is reached.
