Milan continue negotiations for Rodrigo Caio, but Sevilla aren’t their only rivals for the Sao Paulo defender, as Barcelona enter the fray.

Sky Sport Italia claim the Rossoneri are continuing talks with the Brazilian club and the €12m-rated centre-back’s entourage.

Unlike Sevilla, Milan would be prepared to leave Caio on loan in South America until January.

The 23-year-old is currently in action with Brazil at the Rio Olympics, targeting the gold medal.

The Blaugrana would also leave Caio at Sao Paulo until 2017 and consider him the ideal centre-back for their style of football, as he has good feet and distributes the ball well.

His height also allows him to be strong in the air, so it’s no coincidence he’s considered the new Thiago Silva in Brazil.
