Roma have reported that in a bid to solve Federico Balzaretti’s groin issue, the defender will undergo surgery today.
Balzaretti has been out of action for a number of weeks with a groin strain and no indications of his return have been given as yet.
Still struggling with ‘on-going and persistent pain’, the 32-year-old has been reported by his club as visiting specialists in the United States this week.

Roma confirm through a statement today that now, in consultation with medical staff and the club, Balzaretti will undergo an operation later this afternoon for a small hernia in the left groin, in the ‘day surgery’ ward of UMass Hospital in Boston.
