Mario Balotelli celebrated his comeback with a goal as Milan beat Catania 4-2. “We conceded two stupid goals, but reacted as only a great team can.”
The former Manchester City hitman had missed the games with Napoli and Juventus due to a ban, but returned to earn and convert a late penalty.
“For now I am scoring goals, as I did well and was fortunate, so I hope to score as many as possible,” Balotelli told Sky Sport Italia.
The victory keeps Milan in third place, as Fiorentina had temporarily overtaken them in the standings.
“We knew that we had to win this game. We conceded two stupid goals, but reacted as only a great team can.
“Pazzini made a wonderful impact as a substitute and I compliment him. We are relaxed, we know what we can do and take it one game at a time.”
There has been speculation over the future of Massimiliano Allegri, but Balotelli put his support firmly behind the Coach.
“Allegri is a great manager and I hope he will stay here for a long time to come. I think we can get the Champions League place, even if you never know in football.”
However, the Italian international was yet again booked for dissent.
“It’s not normal to get kicked so many times and then getting booked the first time I say anything at all. It’s impossible.”
Last week Balotelli was named in the Time 100 most influential people in the world.
“It is a great honour, as this award puts more responsibility on me and I will carry it forward. I’d like to wish Javier Zanetti a speedy recovery, because he is a great man and a champion.”
