Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli was reportedly at the scene of a huge brawl in Lonato, but his involvement remains unclear.

The footballer is being linked to yet another controversial story as reports emerge of a fight in Lonato, a town in the province of Brescia, that supposedly took place last Saturday night.

According to the Corriere della Sera, the player was at a club called Coco Beach and took some selfies with a group of youngsters who were about to leave on a bus.

According to the Corriere della Sera, the player was at a club called Coco Beach and took some selfies with a group of youngsters who were about to leave on a bus.

The situation somehow degenerated into a brawl, though it's unclear what exactly happened. Some claim that the player simply walked away as the youngsters argued among themselves, others say that he was actively involved in the fight and that he ran after the bus and forced himself onto it.

One 33-year-old involved in the incident was hospitalised and had to have three fingers amputated. Reportedly he was trying to escape the scene, but he caught his fingers in the ticket-machine inside the bus.

Balotelli will most certainly be called in by the police, at the very least to offer testimony, though there may be charges if he was actually involved in the fighting.
