Mario Balotelli did not appreciate Zlatan Ibrahimovic saying the Italian ‘threw his talent away’ and responded with the one trophy his former teammate does not possess.

Ibrahimovic was one of the guests at the Festival dello Sport today, organised by La Gazzetta dello Sport, and spoke on stage about his long career and the many players he worked with.

“When a kid has the opportunities to make the most of his talent and does not take them, that is a pity,” said Ibrahimovic.

“Balotelli had so many opportunities and he missed all of them, he just threw his talent away. This is the truth.”

It seems Balotelli was not impressed by these comments and responded on Instagram Stories with an image that speaks louder than words.

He posted a picture of himself holding the Champions League trophy, which he won at Inter in 2010, a year after Ibrahimovic had left the club.

Just to make absolutely sure that the message got through, Balotelli also tagged Ibrahimovic in the photograph.

Although Ibra achieved a great deal during his career, winning multiple trophies, the Champions League has always eluded him and that Inter squad was his closest call.

  1. O yes because Inter won the CL because of Balotelli! The point Ibra is making is very very clear, Ibra went to teams to be the main goal scorer, Balotelli was never a teams main man because he was inconsistent, and the obvious risk of being sent off or doing something utterly ridiculous to get himself banned.
Balo can post all the CL pictures he isn’t even worthy of cleaning Ibra’ boots!

  2. Maybe he was not a protagonist but was definitely involved in the crucial win vs Ruben ( free kick)so he was part responsible for progression😉😉😉
