It’s even suggested Balotelli had to send director Galliani – who already worked with him at Milan – a picture of his bathroom scales every morning to prove his diet was on track.

“We hope his time at Monza will be a happy one, similar to at Milan in 2012-13,” Galliani told TeleLombardia.

“He needs time, because he hasn’t played in an official game since March, but he’s working, losing weight and reducing the percentage of fat in his body. We’re getting Mario in shape.

“Watching him in training, you can tell he’s world class and should’ve done more in his career. It’s a pity he threw so many years away.”
