Mario Balotelli had the perfect Saturday, marking his rumoured Italy recall with a goal and assist during an eight-minute cameo for Adana Demirspor.

There are multiple reports the 31-year-old striker will be named in Roberto Mancini’s squad for an Italy get-together at the Coverciano training ground next week.

It’s an opportunity for Mancini to touch base with his players and help prepare the upcoming World Cup play-offs in March.

Why Mancini will give Balotelli his Azzurri return

This would represent Balotelli’s first call-up for his country in three years and he was in the mood to celebrate today.

He came off the bench for Adana Demirspor and in just eight minutes managed to score a goal and provide an assist for Yunus Akgun in the 5-0 victory over Fatih Karagumruk.

Admittedly, the visitors were down to 10 men for over an hour because ex-Parma player Yann Karamoh was sent off.

SuperMario posted footage of the goal on his own Instagram.

  1. He plays in Turkey… and he only has 7 goals… we are supposed to take Mancini seriously now? Balo is a dark cloud.. he will be a problem in the dressing room… this is a big mistake.. he was washed up 10 years ago…
