Mario Balotelli has reportedly agreed a move to FC Sion and now must wait for the Swiss side to find a deal with Adana Demirspor.

The 31-year-old Italian striker had a strong outing last campaign in Turkey, netting 18 goals and providing four assists in 31 Super Lig appearances. His work saw many hope to see him return to the Italian national team in a bid to solve the striker crisis, but ultimately Roberto Mancini went with young options instead.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Balotelli has now agreed personal terms with Sion and must wait for an agreement to be found between the Swiss club and his current team Adana Demirspor.

Things have been a little unstable for the Italian striker following his departure from Nice in January 2019. He spent six months with Olympique Marseille before joining Brescia, where he spent a year in Serie A.

After their relegation, he remained a free agent for a few months before joining up with Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza for the remainder of the 2020-21 season. When that campaign concluded, he headed for Turkey, signing a three-year deal with Adana Demirspor.

  1. He will struggle in the Swiss league it’s a lower grade but its aggressive and fast u definitely can’t dawdle on the pitch.

  2. Wish he would go to MLS as well as I think with his personality he would be a big hit in the United States.

  3. Mario Balotelli can only go to football clubs that want him.

Maybe no clubs in MLS has pursued him, as yet.
