Balogun insists he wants to play as Inter prepare offer for Arsenal

Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun insists he wants to play this season, while reports in Italy claim Inter are ready to make an opening bid for the Gunners.

The Nerazzurri are on the lookout for a new striker after dropping Romelu Lukaku. Although Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has made Alvaro Morata his priority target for 2023-24, club directors are more inclined to sign the American striker.

Sunday’s printed editions of Il Corriere dello Sport (page 8) and Tuttosport (page 15) claim Inter are ready to make their opening offer for the 22-year-old.

According to CorSport, Marotta’s proposal will be worth €35m, while Tuttosport claims Inter will make an offer to sign the striker on loan for €5m with an option to buy for €35m in 2024.

Balogun was not involved in Arsenal’s pre-season friendly against Manchester United on Sunday and said during a post-match interview with AFTV that he wants to play (video below).

The American striker has returned to the Emirates Stadium this summer after a one-year spell at Stade Reims, where he scored 22 goals in 39 games in 2022-23.
