Gianluigi Donnarumma was named the best goalkeeper of the year and said he was ‘destined’ to join PSG.

The former Milan shot-stopper won the Yachine Award and was ranked 10th at the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

“It was an incredible season for me, starting from the return to the Champions League with Milan and the European championship,” Donnarumma said after receiving the award.

“We gave joy to all the Italians and to ourselves, I am still speechless. Then I joined PSG and I am really proud.

“It was a sign of destiny, they’ve always followed me so it was destiny to come here. I thank the president and the director for their trust I hope to repay them and win many trophies with this team.

“I want to thank my family, my girlfriend and my brother whi helps me every day in everything I do.

“I want to thank my former coaches and my current coach who help me every day to become as strong as ever.”

  1. Well done Acemilan, if only everybody else was like you at Milan. Gigio does need support from all of us and at the same time he needs to improve and try to become 1st choice at PSG even though in my opinion he should have never left Milan. We need him and all the other players to be on top form as we will need to win the semi and hopefully give our upmost in the final. Whatever happens, it is a damn shame that most of the play off teams are not going to be at the WC. Fifa need to revisit this issue for future WC events.

  2. @Acemilan fan, idon’t know why anybody should be hurt bcos he left.

@Tonino why would every Milan fan be like Acemilan fan? Milan literally made Donarumma and all you could do is left on free transfer becos of earning more money, is that the right thing to do? You can only do that if you lack moral values and anyone that support him is even worst than him.
