Fodé Ballo-Touré admits he didn’t believe Milan wanted to sign him: ‘I am really happy now.’

The 24-year-old has completed a €4.5m switch from Monaco, signing a four-year deal at San Siro.

“At first, I didn’t believe it, for me, it’s just incredible. When I heard it was true, I still couldn’t believe it until I got to Milan. I am really happy,” the former Monaco defend said in an interview with the club’s website.

Who is new Milan signing Ballo-Toure?

The Senegal international is drafted in as the alternative to Theo Hernandez, who will remain the first choice.

“Theo is a really strong full-back, he has improved so much since the start of his career and is one of Milan’s key players, so why not follow in his footsteps?” he said.

Ballo-Touré will reunite with Mike Maignan in Milan. The goalkeeper had joined the Rossoneri in a €16m deal from Lille to replace Gigio Donnarumma.

“I played with him before, we came through together at PSG and then played together at Lille,” Ballo-Touré said.

“He is like me. A brother from another mother. He has amazing mental strength, he is so determined for what he wants. He gets what he wants.”
