“It’s a great feeling, as in every match, and I hope it will be the same from now on,” Ballardini told Sky Sport Italia. “There are so many things that have happened since I arrived at Genoa for the first time.
“I find it hard to pick one particular moment.”
His first experience with the club was in 2010-11 and he has returned three times since.
“I only started the season at Genoa once and it was the best start of the last 10 or 20 years in Serie A,” he said. “In seven games we had scored 12 points and therefore we often talk about taking over, but I would also talk about the start of the season.”
Ballardini expects a ‘difficult’ jubilee against the Viola, who have reappointed Beppe Iachini as their head coach.
“Fiorentina, apart form the change of coach, is a very important reality with a quality squad,” he said. “We have seen the recent matches of the Viola and also those with Iachini on the bench.
“I imagine the 100th game against Fiorentina will be very difficult, as indeed all the matches in our League are. This is the beauty of Serie A."
