“It’ll be a tough game because Inter will be even more motivated after their defeat to Chievo,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“I saw that game and they were well-placed tactically. Palermo will play very tight, taking advantage of all spaces at our disposal and try not to give Inter reference points. We’ll be aggressive on the pitch and positive in attack, having the confidence to push more players forward and attack the space.
“Ivaylo Chochev is fundamental for us. He can be the glue between defence and attack. I have a lot of faith in him and want him to do more with the ball at his feet.
“Oscar Hiljemark is talented going forward and defending, but just needs to be more consistent. Robin Quaison didn’t really work as a False 9, while Sallai needs time to mature at the right moment. After all, it took Paulo Dybala a couple of years before he became the player you now see at Juventus.”
Ballardini was asked about Palermo’s confirmed bid to take Balotelli on loan from Liverpool.
“We are a tight-knit group, so I will only talk about the players in my squad today. The rest is not up to me.”
There is one new buy already, as Ouasim Buoy is available after his loan move from Juventus.
