Former Palermo Coaches Davide Ballardini or Luigi Del Neri could return to the Rosanero hotseat if Giuseppe Iachini is fired.
The Sicilian club’s volatile President Maurizio Zamparini said earlier today that he is ‘worried about Iachini’ and that the Coach must ‘change mentality or go home.’
The Rosanero face Chievo in Serie A on Sunday and the 51-year-old seems almost certain to be sacked if they lose, with the club two points above the relegation zone.
Sport Mediaset have reported that Ballardini and Del Neri have been identified by Zamparini as possible successors.
Both Coaches have had short-lived experiences with Palermo before, with Ballardini taking charge of the 2008/09 season and Del Neri lasting six months between 2005 and 2006.
The latter would be something of a surprise choice, as he has been out of work since being sacked by Genoa in January 2013.
