Enrico Preziosi has indicated that Davide Ballardini won’t be Genoa Coach next year, as reports suggest Fabio Liverani will be.
Ballardini returned to the Grifone in January as a replacement for Gigi Del Neri and was thought to be alongside Del Neri and Andrea Stramaccioni as a potential candidate to have the bench for the start of 2013-14.
However, the club’s President has indicated that this is unlikely.
“Ballardini? I will not encounter him ever again, maybe I have already done so and we have said goodbye,” Preziosi told Telenord this week.
“The next Coach? I’m busy on other things, I’m sorry, if I have not decided to talk about it then there is a reason.
“In the meantime, there have already been 11 names…”
Meanwhile, La Repubblica believe that Preziosi has already chosen former Lazio, Fiorentina and Palermo midfielder Liverani for Coach.
The 37-year-old has been in charge of Genoa’s Primavera side of late, taking them to the end of season play-offs in this year’s Campionato Primavera.
It is reported that Preziosi has a strong relationship with Liverani and has made him an offer.
