Genoa coach Davide Ballardini said he will meet President Enrico Preziosi this week. ‘There’s a contract and I think I will stay’.

Ballardini was appointed for the fourth time at Genoa in December, as he replaced Ronaldo Maran at the helm.

The Rossoblu were 19th in the table when the coach arrived and have climbed to 11th under Ballardini’s six months.

The 57-year-old was dedicated a tile in the famous wall in Alassio for the achievement with the Grifone and during the ceremony he spoke about his future in Liguria.

“If they have dedicated this tile to me, it’s only and exclusively thanks to the group, who have done this extraordinary feat,” Ballardini said, according to TMW.

“They bonded a lot with each other and then all can see what happened.

“We spoke with the President yesterday. Both he and [Francesco] Marroccu are somewhat influenced, and I think we will see each other at the end of this week.

“The last word belongs to the President, if I’m hear today and we have achieved something great, it’s also thanks to him because he asked me to come.

“There’s a contract and I think I will stay, but we need to talk first.”
