A Mattia Destro goal allowed the Grifone to take all three points against Cagliari.
“I don’t know how I managed to achieve this,” Ballardini told Sky Sport with a big smile on his face.
“It all depends on what you do on a daily basis. My relationship with the city can help too. There is love and responsibility, there is mutual love and I feel responsibility for this.
“A coach always feels it, here a little bit more,” he continued.
“Cagliari don’t deserve their position in the table, they have quality and personality.
“We played well in the first half, but we missed some opportunities and Cagliari had a chance to bounce back. They had a great opportunity at the end of the match and one in the first half.
“It can happen when you play against them.”
Destro has scored his seventh Serie A goal this season.
“He is always inside the game, and is willing to help his teammates, he provides assists, he does everything,” Ballardini said.
“You can always rely on him, he is always ready to help and he now is reaping the rewards.”
