Genoa coach Davide Ballardini says his players ‘deserve praise’ and claims Kevin Strootman is a ‘role model’ for young players.

“It was possible thanks to the players and their quality. It’s thanks to them. Genoa have smart, experienced and committed players. This is Genoa,” Ballardini told Sky Sport.

“We have Strootman, we have two strikers who compete each-other and our opponents struggle to play against us,” he continued.
“There are some important role models in the locker room, players like Strootman are examples for young footballers. He is a great footballer.”
