Gareth Bale is reportedly on the verge of signing a one-year deal with Los Angeles FC, joining new arrival Giorgio Chiellini in the MLS.

The 32-year-old Welsh forward is looking for a new club this summer as his contract expires with Real Madrid. Rumours suggested that he was considering retirement but it’s clear that Bale wants to be in top shape to lead Wales in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Bale has already signed some of the pre-transfer paperwork with Los Angeles FC and he’s ready to sign a one-year deal with an option for a second. Things are expected to be fully finalised soon and despite media rumours, Cardiff City and Getafe were never close to securing his signature.

In his nine years with Real Madrid, Bale made 258 appearances across all competitions, scoring 106 goals and providing 67 assists. He won a number of major honours with Los Blancos, including five Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles.
