“We evaluate over the long-term and one match cannot put a Coach into doubt, let alone one where we are missing eight players.
“Hopefully Kevin Strootman will be the real new buy of 2016. He is slowly getting back into full training with the squad. We offered him a new contract before the surgery five months ago, but he said we’d talk about it afterwards. There’s plenty of time.”
Roma are expected to sign Diego Perotti from Genoa and possibly Stephan El Shaarawy from Milan too.
“We will do something, especially as we lost Juan Manuel Iturbe. We will not comment on the rumours in the papers.”
