Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has set his sights on Tommaso Baldanzi and has made the Empoli talent one of the club’s top targets for 2024.

The Italian midfielder shined in his debut season in Serie A, scoring four goals across 26 league outings, and he further impressed at the Under-20 World Cup, playing a crucial role in the Azzurrini’s run to the final.

Empoli had no intention of losing Baldanzi this summer and rejected concrete offers from both Juventus and Fiorentina, but the former aren’t ready to give up on the 20-year-old just yet.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Giuntoli was a fan of Baldanzi during his time at Napoli and recommended the midfielder. Even with the move to Turin, the director hasn’t forgotten about the talent.

Baldanzi is at the top of Juventus’ wish list for the coming year and the club are now expected to start slowly building towards a transfer next summer.
