Former Roma striker Abel Balbo has compared Edin Dzeko to compatriot Gabriel Batistuta, although he assures their 'characteristics are different'.
Dzeko has scored ten goals in Serie A so far this term, which has led to Balbo drawing the ashtonishing parallel between the Bosnian and legendary former teammate Batistuta.
"There's always a middle ground in evaluating a player,” the Argentinian told Corriere dello Sport.“To do what Dzeko has done shows that he has undisputed quality.

"We’re not just talking about scoring goals, but contributing with assists which help the team win.
"There are times when scoring a goal is easy for a striker, but he helped Roma to win against Inter and Napoli and he has scored other decisive goals against Sassuolo.
"He can score other important goals, he is on track. In these last few games he has done things that he couldn’t do before, the things that a striker must do.
"He has helped Roma, in this sense he merits a comparison with Batistuta, although their characteristics are very different. Bati was infallible inside the area, but Dzeko is improving, it is only right to give him confidence."
