Napoli are reportedly not planning to buy Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea, but the midfielder would be open to remain in Serie A next season.

The former Milan player arrived on a dry loan to Napoli on transfer deadline day in October and immediately became a key member of Gennaro Gattuso’s squad.

He is the player with most appearances this season, but Calciomercato.com reports owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intentions of trying to sign Bakayoko on a permanent deal.

Thomas Tuchel has replaced Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge and the French 26-year-old could return to Chelsea with an opportunity to make an impact under the German coach.

His contract with the Blues expires in June 2022 and the Londoners would have to sell this summer to make money from a potential permanent transfer.

The outlet reports Bakayoko is waiting to understand his own future and would be open to stay in Italy for next season.
