Milan have reportedly stalled in their talks with Chelsea for Timeoue Bakayoko, so they are focusing more on Benfica’s Florentino.
Negotiations dragged on for weeks with relatively little progress, and with Sandro Tonali arriving from Brescia on loan for €10m with option to buy for a further €15m plus €10m in bonuses, he is no longer a priority.
In fact, the excellent deal they struck with Brescia for Tonali made Chelsea’s asking price for Bakayoko seem exaggerated.

The Stamford Bridge side want a paid loan for €3m with option to buy for at least another €30m at the end of the season.
Sky Sport Italia also point to problems with his salary, as while Bakayoko is accepting a large discount on his €6m per season wages for the loan year, he wants at least €5m net after the move to Milan is completed.
The 26-year-old is only under contract with Chelsea until 2022 and has been repeatedly loaned out to Milan and Monaco, so the asking price is considered unrealistic by Milan.
Instead, the Rossoneri are turning towards Florentino Luis, who they had already approached in January.
The 21-year-old Portuguese talent is also believed to be in negotiations with Fulham, but would favour Milan instead.
It’s reported he would be available on loan with an option to buy for a total of €20-25m, considerably cheaper and younger than Bakayoko, with a far greater resale value.
