Roberto Baggio has cooled speculation that he and former Brescia teammate Pep Guardiola could team up together at Inter in the future.

It is being suggested that Inter chief Massimo Moratti could revolutionise things at San Siro if the Nerazzurri’s season ends badly.

Amongst the suggestions are the acquisition of Barcelona boss Guardiola and some sort of role at the club for the Italian legend.

“I don’t know,” Baggio, who spent two years at Inter before his 2000 move to Brescia, commented. “Pep has so much experience that he doesn’t really need anyone alongside him.

“Guardiola has some marvellous collaborators and so it is therefore unlikely that such a hypothesis is possible.

“However, we all know that life is so unpredictable that sometimes anything can occur…”

The Spanish tactician spent two spells at the Stadio Rigamonti towards the end of his playing career.

Current Inter boss Claudio Ranieri, who replaced Gian Piero Gasperini in September, is contracted to the club until June 2013.
