Funds may be limited for his side in the January transfer window due to delays suffered in the proposed takeover from Chinese investors, but the sale of Carlos Bacca may provide the €10-12m needed to secure the 27-year-old’s services.

The Colombian is reportedly wanted by both West Ham and Sevilla and Milan could raise in the region of €15-10m for his sale, paving the way for a bid for Badelj.

The former Hamburger SV man has a contract with the Viola until 2018, but all talks of a renewal have disappeared, as comments from his agent in the Press have increased.
