New Milan signing Carlos Bacca insists he’s joining ‘the biggest Italian club’, and targets the Scudetto.

The Colombian striker has joined the Rossoneri from Sevilla, though hasn’t joined up with the rest of the squad as he rests following the Copa America.

“I chose Milan because their project convinced me,” Bacca told Cancha Ecuador.

“They want to return to the top in Europe. I went there because I like challenges, and playing in the Champions League with Milan is definitely that.

“Don’t forget, only Real Madrid have won more Champions Leagues than the Rossoneri. I had offers from the Middle East, China, Germany, England, Spain and other Italian clubs.

“I’m very motivated and I want to replicate what I did with Sevilla. I want to give my contribution in awaking the sleeping beauty that is Milan, we want to aim for the Champions League and challenge for the Scudetto.

“It’s clear to me that Milan are the biggest club in Italy, but to succeed we’ll have to compete with Juventus, Inter, Roma and Lazio.”

The forward also insisted his move to San Siro was not financially motivated.

“If it was just about money, I’d have gone to the Middle East. It’s always good to have lucrative offers, but money isn’t everything to me, I wanted a big club with a clear plan like Milan.

“Cristian Zapata [his Colombia teammate] told me Milan are a great club and Milan is an extraordinary city.”
