The Portuguese tactician has worked in Italy as Jose Mourinho’s assistant at Inter, though the pair had a falling out when he broke away on his own.
“Prandelli has changed something compared to the classic style of the Azzurri, proving they don’t just do catenaccio,” AVB told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This Italy side plays good football, attacks openly and I think this is how football ought to be played. I hope they go far.
“In the 1990s Serie A was the best League in the world, then scandals and financial problems saw it drop. It’s getting back on track, as you just have to look at Roma and Napoli playing great football, Milan in the Champions League and the progress at Juventus.”
Villas Boas is considering his next step after he was sacked by Tottenham in December.
“I won’t be in the Premier League next season. More than the destination, I am interested in a project, starting from June.
“I will say that one day I’d love to work with young players in Brazil.”
