Milan have been suggested as ready to swap Fernando Torres for the Italy international this January, whilst Inter’s most recent transfer summit apparently had them prioritising the former Torino star.

However, both clubs have only been open to an initial loan deal, which Atleti were reported up until today reluctant to consider.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, though, the Spaniards are now warming to the idea of loaning Cerci rather than selling him, perhaps partly as a result of a recent minor injury suffered by the player in training.

However, it is understood that in any temporary deal, Atletico would look for the inclusion of a purchase option for whoever loans Cerci to take him permanently in the summer.
