Alvaro Morata has seemingly accepted he will see out the season at Juventus, as Atletico Madrid are blocking his potential move to Barcelona.

The striker is on a two-year loan worth €20m, with option to buy for a further €35m, an option that Juve are quite clearly now not going to activate.

However, that doesn’t mean they are ready to let him leave six months early either, even with the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.

According to Catalan paper Sport, Morata’s agent has tried to negotiate a January switch to Barcelona, but his parent club Atletico Madrid have no intention of strengthening a direct rival in LaLiga.

They are trying to put lots of obstacles in his path, including a mandatory buy-out clause worth €35m.

Even if Morata accepted a wage cut to make the move happen, he has seemingly acknowledged it is not going to happen in this transfer session.

If anyone is leaving Juve to make way for Vlahovic, it’ll be Dejan Kulusevski to Tottenham Hotspur, while Kaio Jorge has been linked with loans to the likes of Salernitana, Genoa or Spanish side Granada.
