There are reports Atletico Madrid are no longer interested in Mauro Icardi, as only Napoli, Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid have targeted the Inter striker.

Although Icardi returned to the team after six weeks of exile, he is still widely expected to leave at the end of the season, having been stripped of the captaincy.

There were suggestions in the Spanish media this morning that Atletico Madrid were in contact with Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara.

There were suggestions in the Spanish media this morning that Atletico Madrid were in contact with Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara.

However, FCInterNews, Tuttomercatoweb and Sky Sport Italia insist any interest in Icardi was two years ago and not for this summer.

The only clubs genuinely ready to make an offer for Icardi are within Serie A, specifically Napoli and Juventus.

In addition, Manchester United and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation, particularly if Inter agree to lower the asking price to around €75m.

He has a release clause in his contract worth €110m, but it is only valid for a few weeks in June and July for clubs outside of Italy.
