Reports are growing in Spain and Italy that Atletico Madrid see Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik as the ideal replacement for Diego Costa.

It’s claimed Costa is looking for a January contract termination by mutual consent so that he can return to South America for personal reasons.

Milik is increasingly seen as the first choice to bring in as his replacement, with AS, Mundo Deportivo and Marca all pointing to the Poland international.

It’s claimed Costa is looking for a January contract termination by mutual consent so that he can return to South America for personal reasons.

Milik is increasingly seen as the first choice to bring in as his replacement, with AS, Mundo Deportivo and Marca all pointing to the Poland international.

He has not played for Napoli this season, as Milik was frozen out for refusing to sign a new contract or complete a summer transfer to Roma.

His contract runs out in June 2021 and that could be an issue, as there are concerns he’ll hold out for another six months so that he can get a free transfer next season.

Napoli are asking for at least €15m to part with the centre-forward, a drop from the €18m requested over the summer.
