It is increasingly likely that Dusan Vlahovic will remain with Fiorentina, as Atletico Madrid reportedly turn towards Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha after €60m plus €10m bonuses was rejected.

The 21-year-old Serbia international is at the centre of a bidding war between Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

Atleti have always been the favourites and they made the biggest offer, which Sportitalia cited as €60m plus €10m in bonuses and a percentage of any future sale.

However, Fiorentina turned it down, convinced they can keep him for one more year with an improved contract.

Now Diario AS and La Gazzetta dello Sport both claim Atletico Madrid have turned their focus towards a different target, Hertha Berlin’s Brazilian striker Cunha.

He has very different characteristics to Vlahovic and is more of a support striker than a pure centre-forward, but would be available for just €30m.

Notably, Cunha was left out of the Hertha Berlin squad today, despite not having any injury concerns.

Sky Sport Deutschland report he was dropped because he is in negotiations for a transfer.
