Atletico Madrid could challenge Milan in the race for Borussia Dortmund and Germany international striker Niclas Füllkrug, a form of revenge for the Alvaro Morata snub.

The Rossoneri already picked up one new centre-forward this summer, activating the €13m release clause in Alvaro Morata’s contract with Atletico Madrid.

According to Diario AS, their failure to inform the Spanish club of their actions could be in part fuelling the pursuit of next target Füllkrug.

Füllkrug wanted by Milan and Atletico Madrid

The 31-year-old impressed for Germany at EURO 2024 and is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund, with a contract running to June 2026.

He only joined them a year ago from Werder Bremen for €17m and the asking price is reported to be around €15-20m, as they already signed Serhou Guirassy as his replacement.

Milan are seeking centre-forwards who are towards the end of their careers, because they are confident 16-year-old Francesco Camarda can soon be ready to lead the line.

Now Atletico Madrid are ready to challenge the Rossoneri for the Germany international.

  1. Is this serious? If Atletico are pursuing Fullkrug, it’s because they see him as a viable target. Not because they intend to spite Milan.

  2. Revenge! What is this drivel man! If Athletico want him it’s because he’s a target they want not some sour grapes BS!
