Colombian media have joined the chorus of reports suggesting Milan target Jackson Martinez will join Atletico Madrid.

The Porto striker has a release clause for €35m and had agreed terms for a transfer to Milan this week, as confirmed by club and agent.

However, the Rossoneri would not complete it without a medical and are still waiting for permission from the Colombian Federation, as he is on international duty for the Copa America.

While the Italians hesitated, Atletico Madrid saw an opening and are reportedly prepared to complete the signing even without a medical.

The claim had already emerged this morning in Portuguese and Spanish papers, but has now spread to Colombia, where Martinez to Atleti is seen as certain.

It would be another bitter blow for Milan, who also saw main midfield target Geoffrey Kondogbia of Monaco opt for Inter today.

The Diavolo also feel increasingly pessimistic over Martinez, so are turning their focus towards another Colombia international – Carlos Bacca of Sevilla.

Even here they face stern competition for the €25m-rated striker, as Roma and Liverpool are among top contenders.
