The two Serie A clubs were reported earlier today to have reached an agreement on the subject of the winger's loan away from the Rossoneri.

According to MilanNews.it, Atletico Madrid are also onboard with the idea of sending Cerci to Genoa so that he may regain regular playing time.

The Spanish club's consent is necessary as they still own the Italian player, and his stay at Milan is itself the result of a loan deal.

With all clubs happy with the move, it remains only to be seen whether the player himself will be persuaded to change his colours.

Genoa is a substantially smaller team than Milan, but increased playing time may gain Cerci access to an international call in time for Euro 2016.

Should he give his consent to the move, the clubs would then go on and formalise it, but the operation is frozen until then.
