It was a night of celebrations in Dublin and Bergamo where Atalanta fans witnessed their players make history and win their first title since 1963, the second in the club’s history.
An Ademola Lookman hat-trick inspired La Dea’s win in Ireland giving Gian Piero Gasperini his first trophy as a professional coach.
The 66-year-old was appointed eight years ago and despite achieving impressive results, including three consecutive Champions League qualifications, he had lost the previous three finals in charge of the team, all in Coppa Italia.
Over 8,000 Atalanta fans were in Dublin, and many more watched the match in Bergamo, at home or on giant screens in the streets. They are now all waiting for their team to return to Italy to continue celebrating and see the trophy arrive in Bergamo.
