Atalanta’s most expensive signing of all time, El Bilal Toure, has reportedly agreed a deal on personal terms with Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart, just one year after his arrival in Serie A.

Stuttgart agree terms with Atalanta’s Toure

The 22-year-old striker has agreed terms with the Bundesliga outfit, but the club still need to agree a deal with Toure’s current club, according to reports from Footmercato

Stuttgart are in need of a new centre-forward to replace 2023-24 talisman Serhou Guirassy, who joined Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund earlier in the window. Die Roten finished second in the German top flight last season, and so they will play in the Champions League in 2024-25.

Atalanta paid a total package of €30m to bring the striker to Bergamo from Almeira last summer, in a deal that would turn out to be the most expensive in the club’s history.

Toure suffered a serious hamstring injury immediately after his arrival, and subsequently missed the first half of the 2023-24 season, and then found himself behind Gianluca Scamacca in the pecking order upon his return.

He would eventually make his Atalanta debut in a 4-1 Serie A win over Genoa in February, also marking his first appearance with a goal off the bench.

Toure went on to make 17 appearances across all competitions last term, including at the end of the 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.
