Atalanta have reportedly changed their plans regarding Jeremie Boga, so Fiorentina, Leicester City and others now won’t get him on loan.

The winger had been on the way out of Bergamo after falling down the pecking order under coach Gian Piero Gasperini and with a series of performances that made him seem a shadow of the player seen at Sassuolo.

However, he came off the bench to provide two assists in the 2-1 win away to Bologna last night at the Stadio Dall’Ara and showed glimpses of what he was capable of.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, that proved enough to change Atalanta’s minds and they have now taken Boga off the market.

Fiorentina and Leicester City had been particularly interested in doing a deal, with Boga having already turned down the Premier League side over the summer.

La Dea already sent Ruslan Malinovskyi to Olympique Marseille, so there ought to be more chances for playing time for the rest of the season.

Atalanta paid €22m to sign Boga from Sassuolo a year ago, but he never quite fully recovered after a long bout of COVID-19, which lasted for six weeks.
