Atalanta continue to negotiate for Sampdoria midfielder Morten Thorsby and could get the deal done by Monday.
According to Tuttosport, the talks have progressed over the last couple of days and both clubs are confident of reaching an agreement.
The offer on the table is believed to be circa €6m.
Norway international Thorsby is seen as an ideal understudy for Marten de Roon in the Atalanta squad.
The 25-year-old joined Samp from Heerenveen in 2019 on a free transfer and scored three goals with one assist in 33 Serie A appearances for the Blucerchiati last season.
