Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners suffered an injury during a friendly between the Netherlands and Scotland on Friday, so he’s in doubt for the upcoming Serie A match against Napoli.

The Netherlands national team have confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, that Koopmeiners won’t be available for an international friendly against Germany on Tuesday.

“Teun Koopmeiners will not travel to Frankfurt with the squad. The midfielder suffered an injury in the match against Scotland and will not be fit in time for the game against Germany. Have a quick recovery, Teun,” the Netherlands national team said in a statement.

According to Sky Sport Italia, this means the Dutch midfielder is in doubt for Saturday’s Serie A match between Atalanta and Napoli at the Stadio Maradona. The match is crucial for both sides, who aim to finish in the top four and qualify for the 2024-25 Champions League.

Koopmeiners is on his way to Bergamo where he will be assessed by Atalanta club doctors. La Dea will only release a fitness update after medical examinations.

Koopmeiners has 12 goals and four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.

The 26-year-old has recently revealed that he’s planning to leave Atalanta at the end of the current campaign, with Juventus and Premier League clubs interested.
