Atalanta have reportedly rejected an offer from Tottenham Hotspur worth €50m for Cristian Romero.

Tuttosport reports Spurs sporting director Fabio Paratici wants to bring Romero to London and that the Lilywhites had their initial offer rejected.

Romero moved to Atalanta on a paid loan with an option to buy from Juventus ahead of 2020-21 and the Argentine has impressed at the Gewiss Stadium.

The 23-year-old, who played three times at the Copa America when Argentina lifted the trophy this summer, played 42 competitive games with the Nerazzurri last season, contributing three goals and five assists.

The Turin based newspaper reveals Paratici has contacted the Orobici and was willing to offer €50m for the centre-back.

La Dea, however, rejected the proposal and have asked for more to let the youngster move already after one season.

Romero first arrived in Italy when he signed with Genoa in July 2018, moving from Belgrano in his homeland.

He was then picked up by Juventus for a reported €26m one year later, but returned to the Rossoblu on loan for 2019-20.
