Atalanta have reportedly submitted a new and improved offer for Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley after having their opening bid turned down earlier in July.

Atalanta lodge improved offer with Celtic for O’Riley

According to reports from transfer expert Matteo Moretto, La Dea have sent a new offer in the region of €17m-€18m for the 23-year-old midfielder, but Celtic are continuing to ask for even more.

Atalanta had submitted an opening offer of €15m for O’Riley, but his current employers in Glasgow insist that the current price tag stands at €25m.

Both Atalanta and Celtic are expected to continue in their negotiations over the Fulham academy graduate.

Born in Hounslow, O’Riley is eligible to play for Denmark through family heritage on his mother’s side. He earned his first cap for the senior national team in a EURO 2024 qualifier against Northern Ireland in 2023.

An attacking midfielder by trade, he contributed with 19 goals and 18 assists from 49 competitive matches in all competitions last season.
