Atalanta are reportedly ready to battle Leeds and Wolves for Liverpool wantaway Takumi Minamino, but Monaco are leading the race for the Japan international.

Minamino is determined to leave Anfield Road to get more playing time elsewhere and according to Gazzetta, Atalanta are among the clubs interested in securing his services.

The report on the pink papers follows a story published by The Mirror on Sunday. Atalanta are on the lookout for a new attacking winger and the Japan international is one of the targets monitored by La Dea.

His €2.7m-a-year deal is slightly above Atalanta’s maximum wage, but his €20m price tag makes Minamino an affordable target for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.

Atalanta have recently hired Lee Congerton as the new Head of Senior Recruitment, so the Serie A side will likely look to more Premier League targets during the summer.

However, La Dea is not the only club interested in Minamino as Leeds, Wolverhampton, Southampton and Monaco are also monitoring the 27-year-old, who spent the second part of the 2020-21 campaign on loan at the St. Mary’s Stadium. According to the report, Monaco are leading the race to sign the former RB Salzburg star.
