Charles De Ketelaere has not lived up to expectations in his debut season with Milan, but has still attracted the attention of Atalanta, reports suggest.
The Rossoneri focused their efforts on the Belgian talent last summer and eventually beat out Leeds United to secure his signature, paying around €35m total for the 22-year-old.
Milan’s investment in De Ketelaere has not paid off yet, however, as the Belgian has only managed to provide one assist in 33 appearances across all competitions this season, looking a shadow of the player that shined with Club Brugge.
As detailed by TMW, Atalanta have been keeping a close eye on De Ketelaere this season and are interested in making a move for the Milan talent in the summer, believing in his potential.
Gian Piero Gasperini has proven his ability to get the most out of players in the past and would welcome the 22-year-old to his squad.
A loan move could be a good fit for Milan, allowing the player to continue his development in Italy without the pressures of the Rossoneri environment.
