There is bad news for Atalanta after their 0-0 draw with Udinese, as Teun Koopmeiners and Davide Zappacosta have both been diagnosed with thigh strains and will miss the trip to Napoli.

Zappacosta was originally named in the starting XI and pulled out during the warm-up, while Koopmeiners limped off during the first half of last night’s goalless stalemate in Bergamo.

The verdicts are in from the medical staff and Zappacosta has been diagnosed with a low grade lesion to the long adductor in his right leg.

This is not too serious a setback and it’s possible he could be available again for their match with Empoli on March 17.

As for Koopmeiners, the Dutch international has a Grade I lesion near the tendon of his left femoral bicep.

This will require a longer lay-off and he is not expected back until after the break for international duty.

Both will certainly miss next week’s showdown with Serie A leaders Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
