Atalanta hope to keep Duvan Zapata, but the Colombian reportedly wants a move to Inter, who are ready to offer €30m.

SportItalia reports Zapata respects his contract with the Orobici but will try in every way to join Simone Inzaghi’s team this summer.

Gian Piero Gasperini doesn’t want to lose Zapata but has started looking for possible alternatives to replace the striker.

The 30-year-old, capped 23 times by Colombia, joined Atalanta on a paid loan in July 2018 and later signed a permanent deal with the Orobici in January 2020.

The former Napoli and Sampdoria striker was mentioned as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, but his contract at the Gewiss Stadium expires in June 2023.

Edin Dzeko has arrived at San Siro and Lazio forward Joaquin Correa has been linked with the Beneamata, whilst Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne later emerged as a possible target.

SportItalia reports Inter are willing to pay €30m for Zapata’s services, but Atalanta wish to avoid losing a vital member of their attacking force.

The report claims Zapata, who has scored 66 times in 130 competitive games with Atalanta, will not bang his fist and push for a move to join Inter, but would love to join the champions this summer.
