Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini is wanted by ‘all of Europe’s top clubs,’ said his agent, but has also just agreed a new contract in Bergamo.
The centre-back has been linked with numerous sides including Inter, Milan, Napoli, Juventus, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Agent Tullio Tinti spoke to reporters after leaving the Inter headquarters this afternoon, where he was discussing an extension for defender Alessandro Bastoni, another former Atalanta player.
“Scalvini is such an important player that all of Europe’s top clubs are interested. He is young, he has time to do everything he needs to do.”
Asked if Scalvini had extended his contract with Atalanta, Tinti replied: “Yes, that is the case.”
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the decision was made several days ago and saw his salary more than doubled from €200,000 per season to €500,000.
Scalvini is only 19 years old and already has four senior caps for Italy, while he was participating in the Under-21 European Championship this month.
His current deal runs to June 2027 and the asking price for the Atalanta youth academy product is believed to be a minimum of €40m.
